Bath gets GymMark certification

April 2007

Leanne presents Sarah with our Gym Mark plaque

We are delighted to report that City of Bath have fulfilled all the criteria and have qualified for BG GymMark certification.

Thanks to all who went on courses and helped us to gain the qualification. We are now an approved BG club.

Thank you to Brian and Sarah for getting the folder ready and sorting the paperwork and especially Leanne Dingle, South West Gymnastics Development Officer for assisting us so well.

Update: July 2007 - Leanne kindly attended our club display at Culverhay to present Sarah with our GymMark plaque.

The GymMark scheme

GymMark accreditation is the British Gymnastics seal of approval for a club. It means the club is recognised by British Gymnastics, Sport England and the Home Country Sports Councils as:

a safe, effective and child friendly club, providing a service in the community, that children and young people, their parents/carers, and others with an interest in gymnastics, can trust.

Clubs that achieve GymMark will have the security and knowledge that:

they have done everything that can be reasonably expected of them in order to minimise the possibility of having an accident or incident at their club.

Further information on the GymMark scheme is available on the British Gymnastics website.
