SILVER, BRONZE AND TEAM GOLD FOR FRANKIE AT LG INTERNATIONAL

Stoke on Trent 7-8 April 2007

British Gymnastics hosted an international competition at Stoke on Trent in April with visiting countries from Russia, Bulgaria, Canada, Belgium, Slovakia, Czech Republic. GB entered a team of Juniors and Seniors and our Frankie Fox competed in the Junior section.

Frankie’s rope routine was the very first of the day. She performed brilliantly and set the standard for the rest of the competition. The Russians were superb and proved tough competition in all pieces, but Frankie gained a very well deserved fourth overall in the Junior competition on the Saturday and qualified for the following day’s finals in all pieces.

Frankie’s ribbon routine on the Sunday was clean and stunning and gained her silver medal and a wonderful ball routine gained her a bronze medal and lots of positive comments from the judges.

She also helped her GBR team mates to win the team gold medal. Two top scores from one Junior and one Senior of the team qualified for the team medal and Frankie’s scores were the highest of the GB Juniors.

Overall, a very exciting weekend. These are Frankie’s first medals at international level. Well done. We are all very proud of her.
