On Saturday, Sarah arranged an IRISH DANCE WORKSHOP for the girls. There are many transferable skills, including the use of footwork, coordination, timing, spatial awareness and rhythm, which the girls learnt more about through Irish dance, with an emphasis on transferring these skills to their gymnastics!
Rebecca Berrisford, who Sarah knows through her connections at SASP, kindly agreed to come and teach the gymnasts some Irish dance. She also brought a variety of costumes to show the girls. They worked in three groups, to concentrate on the technique of some of the simple steps, followed by more complex sequence and step movements patterns.
The gymnasts really enjoyed their experience, and the chance to learn some new skills!
