Bath RGC took a team of 16 gymnasts all the way down to Canterbury on 26/27 April 2008. The Saturday competition saw Novice and Intermediate gymnasts compete on 2 or 3 apparatus and the team had a fantastic day. The polished and steady performances were a credit to their hard work in training.
Quote from Sarah “ I am very pleased with the results of the Novice and Intermediate gymnasts, their performances showed great improvement and a lot of potential and promise for the future.”
The National level category was held on the Sunday with another six Bath gymnasts taking part and again there were strong performances all round.
Caitlin Brennan in the U11 did exceptionally well, beating the current British champion at her age on both rope and ball to take the overall title. And in a limited field in the Seniors, Frankie Fox too made a clean sweep of the gold medals with all four of her routines.
In a strong Junior competition there was a notable performance from European team member, Lynne Hutchison, scoring a huge 22.050 for her well executed ribbon routine, where she performed some fantastic pirouette work, including a quadruple cossack pivot.
Congratulations to all the Bath gymnasts who took part over the weekend. Encouraging performances for the first big individual competition of the year.
