The European Squad travelled to Bratislava, Lynne Hutchison, Bath was selected to perform her ribbon routine in the competition. The format was such that each country presented four routines to the judges, performed by a minimum of one or maximum of four gymnasts. Nine teams entered the competition and GB finished an excellent sixth place.

Lynne was the first gymnast to compete with ribbon in the tournament and achieved a massive 21.617 with a strong and dynamic performance. This earned her the right to perform in the finals by coming fourth in the all round competition. (Top six to qualify). Lynne’s talent for pirouettes and her hard work in the gym gave her a second solid and consistent performance finishing in fourth place again against tough opposition. Lynne led the way for the British team with her team mates finishing fifth and sixth in the finals with their apparatus.

The National coaches said that they were very pleased with Lynne’s performances in Bratislava and Sarah Binding, Lynne's personal coach said “ This is a fantastic result for Lynne and shows she is coming to form in time for the European Championships”
